Researching Japan's Empire
In the final portion of the course, students will investigate an "issue of history" stemming from Japan’s Empire in East Asia and produce a website that examines the context, events, contending interpretations, and present-day implications of that issue. Research for this project should incorporate both primary documents and secondary scholarly sources and match the rigor expected of a longer (10-15 page) research paper. This portion of the grade incorporates both the research and drafting process and the final website.
